Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

In their case, they are not aware enough to even know they are imitating something.

Millennials, without a pot to piss in to call their own, are too broke for that. This post was edited by O-uknow at July 24, 2018 6:04 AM MDT

Give millenials a chance. Remember that all of us Boomers were once a bunch of hippies with no jobs.

But most of "us Boomers" were not hippies and found jobs pretty soon after their schooling was over.  And even those of us who were hippies (myself included) worked various kinds of jobs though mostly low paying and never for very long.  Whether we took it very seriously or not in those days we all accepted work as a natural part of life.

I was making the point of not generalizing about any generation.

All they have to do is wait. Time is on their side. Those currently with position and power can't hold on to it forever. This post was edited by O-uknow at July 26, 2018 6:18 AM MDT

Actually yuppies were driven go-getters while millennials somehow have the reputation for not wanting to work but wanting the government  to somehow supply their necessities. Don't know how accurate that is because don't know many.  Certainly my stepdaughters are willing and happy to work and even sort-of-go-getters but not to the extent that I think yuppies were supposed to be.  And I know other millenials who are serious about their work.  Anyway those are sort of pop culture terms aren't they?  And anyway isn't youth wonderful?

All the yuppies I have seen wore two-tone sunglasses, had professionally styled hairdos, and drove vehicles taller than themselves.
