Well not single but was for many years.  As well as most of 2011.  Doubt anyone ever rejected me for my inability to understand the finer points of philosophy.  Or science or theology or whatever. And I do think being less keen mentally or knowledgeable about many subjects has made me more appreciate those who are.  Doubt anyone expected me to be brilliant in any way.  Which is a good thing too. Nothing wrong with having some fun on here but like many things some of us are more skilled at jokes and humor than others. Some of us are more "challenged" when it comes to those things.  But the fact is we are all different so we have various strengths and weaknesses and we can laugh at different things.

That would depend on which personality you wanted to date.  It could be a conflict with others.  The choice is yours. :)  Pick personality and door #3.  The first one is scared.  The second one is defensive.  The third one probably has rolled over and found you were a good guy after all!

I want the nice one. Or maybe the one who's horny all the time would be better. Yes, the horny one. No, that's low of me. I'll take the nice one. Wait, how about the one who's always nice and always horny? Ok, final answer.

You are "bound" to have your hands full with your answer. The two combined make a very nice sandwich with a bit of spicy mustard spread.  I'm sure you will enjoy our choice. ;P ;D!

I don't hang out with mentals when I can help it.  So a date with a known mental is out of the question.

I'm mental too and dating a mentally challenged person would be cool.

I qualify as mentally deranged.  Maybe I could hang out with you and carbon?

Apparently that seals the deal, so 100% for me.

Sorry, boys, the pick-up line “I’m in therapy” had already been used. You’ll have to come up with something unique to win this gal over.

    10. I failed therapy.

    9. I have been banned from therapy.

    8. Therapy?  I don't need no more stinkin' therapy!

    7.  We should all double-date: you, me, my therapist and my parole officer.

    6.  I'm in grammar-aversion therapy.

    5.  Group sex or group therapy, you decide.

    4.  Therapy is for losers!  (I can't see you on Thursday afternoons; that's when my weekly therapy sessions take place.)

    3.  We should have our first date at my next therapy appointment!

    2.  It's not therapy-therapy, it's just plain ol' regular, everyday therapy.

    1. I have to ask my mommy if it's ok for me to go out with you. (She's also my therapist, by the way.)

I know this is supposed to be humorous, but it's just not to me. Anyone can end up with 'mental challenges', just like anyone can get ill in other ways. There may be certain behavioral issues that I cannot deal with, but knowing that someone has a mental illness is not necessarily a deal-breaker for me. My hope is that we can get past the stigma of mental illness and treat it just like any other illness.

We are related by the respect we have for one another.

Jane have you read that book by Edie Clark The Place He Made about her marriage to someone who was considered "challenged"?

I have not. I looked it up on Amazon and it's not currently available. I would like to read a positive, uplifting book on life with mental illness. It's so much more common than people realize and it's no different than having cancer or diabetes, IMO.
