It's not always the military sometimes it's rebels but ether way they are usually bloody. But sometimes a coup can be somewhat peaceful but completely democratic- the Orange Revulsion in the Ukraine is a good example. It started because of known voter fraud in the election of the President. After much civil unrest and protests a new vote was demanded which lead to the removal of the sitting President. If it did happen in America it would have to be the military and they would only do it if they absolutely knew Trump is a huge danger to the Nation. In my opinion he already has been - when he had that private meeting with Putin in Russia I bet he was separated from the nuclear football. There is a 8 to 12 minute window for the United States to launch a successful retaliation strike if Russia launched a first strike - the minute Trump steeped in that room with Putin that window closed. If the US Military did decide to have a coup I don't think it would be bloody it would be coordinated and all officials and military personal would stand down and they would have Pence ready to receive the nuclear football. Right now Trump and his lawyer .are saying a President can't be charged for a crime that might be true but a commander and chief can be. Cheers!
