I voted for Hillary with a heavy heart. But the ALTERNATIVE REALITY of donjohntrump was unthinkable. Whom would YOU rather have voted for?

What other folks would you rather have had run so you could have a good field from which to choose? SIGH. That train left the station. That horse left the barn. That ship sailed. 2020 looms large. What are we gonna do to save the ship of state or do we let it just sink?

It wasn’t hostile. If I was being hostile you’d know. I simply don’t see the need to correct every typo and grammatical error. That’s just my view.

We all have pet peeves. Grammar police on the internet is one of mine, like grammatical errors is one of your’s.

No hostility or anger was intended to be conveyed. This post was edited by Rizz at August 18, 2018 9:48 PM MDT

I know m2c. You are not alone. I don't know if any of TGITHWH voters would vote for someone else next time. Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday.

We supported Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina - traditional conservative candidates.  As you may recall from our previous Q & A site I never took Mr. Trump seriously as a political candidate.  Because I could not see him as a public servant and thought he was too liberal.   Nor did we care for his bullying and what we considered as ungracious behavior during the campaign.  But when he pledged to honor a number of conservative ideals  we felt we had to vote for him in the end.  Hilary Clinton started out as a conservative and would have made a good one but she changed. Her disparagement of religion was certainly a turn-off as was her adherence to collectivist notions that historically have failed.  Trump was more willing to just let people be and make up our own minds instead of trying to herd us into this or that.  We believe in freedom and individual responsibility.

Very well said. While I am a Democrat and vote that way more often than not, I share your view of freedom and individual responsibility - especially in the realm of money and economics.

I also voted for Hillary with reservations, but I don't think it matters nearly two years after the fact. Trump was elected and there's no changing that.

And BTW, President Trump is the actual reality, not any alternative one.
