Will the sex abuse scandals in the Catholic Church ever go away? Do they hire/accept defectives as potential priests? Who is at fault here?

Pedophiles are drawn to jobs like being counselors at camps or teachers or priests. They know they will have their choice of children to use to satisfy their evil lust and so that's where they go. It is beyond disgusting. People who should be exemplary in all their deeds at least if not their thoughts take advantage of their positions. More and more doctors are being outed as well. Among athletes the perverted trainers and doctors and what they have done over many years is beyond reprehensible. Choosing professions where they have their pick of their victims. As if that were not HEINOUS enough you have those who coverup. Those who looked the other way. Those who KNEW and DID NOTHING. There are probably thousands of Jim Jordans and Joe Paternos and priests and others in every walk of life...maybe even millions...who knew about the abuse and pretended they didn't. Anything to save the reputation of the institution. Sacrifice the victims on that altar. May they all get their just punishments. If not here then in the beyond here. Thank you for your reply Shuhak. This most recent revelation about what went on in the Catholic Church in Pennsylvania is probably just the tip of the iceberg. All these decades later IT IS STILL GOING ON EVERYWHERE. Maybe humans are rotten and those few who aren't are the abnormal ones...meaning away from the norm. I don't know. Sad though. Ruining lives to satisfy a demonic lust using children and the vulnerable? If that is not borne of the devil I don't know what is.

You know D I have come to the conclusion that those humans who are kind and just and treat others humanely are abnormal. By that I mean the majority of humans are rotten and will use others in any way they can to get ahead, satisfy their perverted sexual desires, whatever.  This latest revelation in Pennsylvania  about church pedophiles and the extent to which their evil was covered up would be shocking if it weren't so common. Everywhere you look there is perversion operating at full  speed. Doctors,  trainers, coaches, teachers,  counselors, priests. Evildoers doing evil right under everyone's noses. They are the perps but the coveruppers are even worse. The evildoers are sick bas**rds and should be locked up away from society and kept drugged or get lobotomies.. Those who don't do the deeds but enable/facilitate them and protect the evildoers to save the "reputation" of the institution should also be punished. They are even worse. They knew better and it didn't matter. Shame on all of them. All the women who have been sexually abused. All the men too. All the children who have been sexually abused. Everyone everywhere is at risk from these monsters and I have come to believe there are many more of them than they are of their prey. The evildoers and their protectors. It is a sad thing for me. I don't believe for a moment that anyone opting for priesthood in the Catholic church is being forced.  It may be that they think they will be able to follow the dictates and remain celibate and then discover that they can't contain their urges.  At that point, they should remove themselves from the priesthood.  If it is discovered that they are diddling children, they should be excommunicated and subject to the law like any other pervert.
