The media are no longer into raw, straightforward news, they are into entertainment, and into promoting the particular political leanings of those who control the organisation - to the extent that, as a reporter, if you are able to somehow slip through a factually accurate piece unhindered, and that piece happens to be damaging to the political ideal of the executive, you are liable to be fired. Not for bad or false reporting, that doesn't apply, but for disrespecting the newspaper's political platform. It has happened. But then, many people today will see nothing wrong with that. This is one reason political manipulation is so rife, so easy, and yet so invisible to the brainwashed electorate and thus so unworthy of attention.
