Is there a food you tasted in your childhood, or in another country that you haven't been able to taste for a long while?

Macaroni pudding for me..my mum used to make it... . I could make it but can't be bothered. Even so I think of it frequently and daydream about it...... Also.. Midori and sweet/sour mix... we can't seem to get sweet/sour mix here.. I used to make my own version but again not only am I finding it difficult to get midori, (let alone to afford it!) but just can't seem to find time to make the sweet/sour mix.

  • "Yes" ... Orange Julius.  I don't know exactly when they stopped
adding eggs to the recipe, but they'll never be the same.  :(

It's an acquired taste. Mom would bring some home periodically. My brother and I were particularly fond of them.

  • "Yes" ... Malts (malted milkshake).  It's getting harder and
harder to find someone who still put malt in their milkshakes.

  • They are ... it seems to add a little body, some people say they're thicker, I agree. I used to go to an ice cream shop that served what they called an Awful Awful malt.  Awful big and awful good! They were so thick you could turn the glass upside down and it wouldn't come out!  You can't do that with a milkshake.
