    I had a father who was a Son of a Bit--!  He was a decorated WW2 'hero' who was a 'Battling Bast--- of Bastogne'  However, he was a drunk who was struggling to support his family. His cars and drinking came first over food and shelter for the family. Mom finally dumped him when I was about 12. (I have never consumed alcohol in my life except he let me taste whisky when I was like 8 y.o.)
