  • I had to respond to this despite being an atheist.

The statement and question would be releavant IMO if the person is a Christian who follows the bible's teachings. Based on that, I would interpret the following of Trump as Idolatry.

At the risk of offending my Christian friends, I find that most, if not all Christians cherry-pick what they will or will not follow or allow in the bible.

No? Can you give me a list of all his faults/warts/insults/attacks? If you can't then you must idolize the guy  as all his supporters seem to do since they refuse to say anything negative about him. Well? Thank you for your reply m2c.  You are either not telling me what you really think about the man or you idolize him. You can't have it both ways.

Thank you for your reply GJ. I believe  his supporters engage in idolatry because they refuse to acknowledge/speak up about all his various egregious faults. To them his faults are part of his strength and he can do no wrong. That is idolatry whether they refuse to admit or not . It's obvious.  :)

Well they idolize/worship Trumpism then. I think God is not pleased with them for that. But since He hasn't spoken directly to me about it I am just surmising/opining! Thank you for your reply Kg and Happy Friday to thee!  :)

Christians are supposed to put their trust in Jesus rather than man. Jesus Christ as King of God's Kingdom is the only true hope for all of the righteous.

Jeremiah 10:23 I well know, O Jehovah, that man’s way does not belong to him. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.+

Genesis 49:10  The scepter will not depart from Judah,+ neither the commander’s staff from between his feet, until Shiʹloh* comes,+and to him the obedience of the peoples will belong.+

Ezekiel 21:26, 27 This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah says: ‘Remove the turban, and take off the crown.+ This will not remain the same.+ Raise up the low one,+and bring low the high one.+ 27 A ruin, a ruin, a ruin I will make it. And it will not belong to anyone until the one who has the legal right comes,+ and I will give it to him.’+

Daniel 7:13, 14  “I kept watching in the visions of the night, and look! with the clouds of the heavens, someone like a son of man+ was coming; and he gained access to the Ancient of Days,+ and they brought him up close before that One.14 And to him there were given rulership,+ honor,+ and a kingdom, that the peoples, nations, and language groups should all serve him.+ His rulership is an everlasting rulership that will not pass away, and his kingdom will not be destroyed.+

Isaiah 11:1-5  A twig+ will grow out of the stump of Jesʹse,+

      • And a sprout+ from his roots will bear fruit.

And the spirit of Jehovah will settle upon him,+

The spirit of wisdom+ and of understanding,

The spirit of counsel and of mightiness,+

The spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.

And he will find delight in the fear of Jehovah.+

He will not judge by what appears to his eyes,

Nor reprove simply according to what his ears hear.+

He will judge the lowly with fairness,*

And with uprightness he will give reproof in behalf of the meek ones of the earth.

He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth+

And put the wicked to death with the breath* of his lips.+

Righteousness will be the belt around his waist,

And faithfulness the belt of his hips.+

    • Isaiah 11:10 In that day the root of Jesʹse+ will stand up as a signal* for the peoples.+
      • To him the nations will turn for guidance,*+

And his resting-place will become glorious.

  • I'm no longer a Christian, but I am quite familiar with the Bible from my Christian upbringing.

What are your thoughts on the passages "Judge not, that ye be not judged (Matthew 7:1-3)" and "He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone (John 8:7)"?

John 7:53-8:11 is not in the older manuscripts and is spurious. Good principal though.

Many people use the judgement to justify their behavior in claiming someone is judge them. For example two males are involve in serious homexuasllity behavor that goes againist God word. The book of Roman, chapter 1. I do not hang around those who practices adnormal sexually behavor or those who do sex outside of marriage. I see their fruits which cause me not to be around them. What happen next they use the judge verse out of the Bible to claim that you are judging them but real they judging their self. People are good in quite Bible verse to protect their self. God is the only one who can judge. We as Christain have the right to look at other people fruits in their life and it not in line with the Bible. We are to front them with love and show them what God word said. If they do not yell to the word of God in what it said that we can remove our self from them. We not judging them. It their fruit in their life which we need to stay away from.

My wife and me are very strong parent rules. One is we do not allow double gender rules in our home and our children do not hang around other kids where there is double gender rules in other people homes. As parents we don not hang around other parents who have double gender rules. My wife and me love our children equal.

I am not running for president of the United States of America. I am  not running for anything. A list of my faults is irrelevant to the question I asked BJ. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday.
