Is the more unpleasant something is the better it is for you? I'm talking about mouthwash folks. Does stinging indicate "better"?

A certain famous breand name mouthwash is very very unpleasant to use. Uncomfortable is an understatement. Another one which is a well-known "natural" brand stings a teeny tiny bit so it is far more pleasant to swish around in your mouth. Does the very uncomfortable one do a better jo protecting you than the one that isn't? I'm not mentioning brand names but I'm pretty sure the cognoscenti among you know to which I refer.

  • Sounds like we're talking about "Blisterine". It was like using carbolic acid to sterilize a mouth full of surgical instruments. If stinging and burning meant clean, then once a month was all you needed.

    I use 'Act'  (the green stuff that has NO ALCOHOL)  It does not burn.
