What are some activities that people postpone for other parts of the day or week due to weather?

For instance, I am planning to wax my car, I have no carport nor other shaded area at my home, and according to the instructions, I should not do it in direct sunlight nor when the temperature is over 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Today's forecast shows it will be 68 low and 79 high. I will have to alter my plan in order to avoid damaging the car's finish.

They shut down the schools if we get more than 6" of snow.
I won't go fishing if it is raining.
There are oodles of things I can think of.

Here in Minnesota, we are known to take the day off work if we happen to have good weather.

Where I grew up, the grown-ups did too!  When I grew up, I moved.  I would rather have nice weather all the time and work than bad weather all the time and work.

Randy - could you not wax your car in the evening, when the sun has set enough to drop the temperature, and perhaps put the car in some shade?

I did this recently for a somewhat similar reason.

Heck!  I just wax my car when there's a Blue Moon.  It has never stopped me.
I have, however, postponed cleaning the kitchen because of nice weather.  It doesn't win me a lot of points with Don.  Still, when the sun and the beach call, what are you to do?  You must oblige.
The dishes will still be there when the sun goes down.  I'm sure of it.
    ;) :)!
