Even though you love someone dearly and are deeply and foreverly committed to him/her do you still flirt with others? Why?

I  never had any interest in it so I didn't learn "how to". My son once told me that I had to be hit over the head with a baseball bat figuratively to notice that someone was interested in me. I guess we all have our crosses to bear don't we? It seems fakey phony to me actually. What is the goal or the point of flirting? If a guy likes a gal he asks her out on a date. Right?
