Of course I would...It was like that in the Navy. One of my jobs as a Chief Petty Officer was to protect my men.

I was in the "old" Navy. It was a time when bigotry and antisemitism was rampant, and NEVER addressed. Besides me, there was a black ET in our division.. I LOVED the Navy.. I HAD a future.. I was awaiting approval for the NESEP program where enlisted men were given a college education and a commission..
So, there we were, in CIC getting ready for an inspection the next day.. Then my chief walked in drunk as hell. He called me a goddamn Jew, took out is wallet and offered me money to go AWOL. He said take the nigger with you..
I was an 18 year old kid who had NEVER run into that before.. Plus, the ONLY person I could complain to WAS the chief.. So, I followed orders and went AWOL ruining my career. Yes, at the mast I told the exec what happened, and he only gave me restriction instead of brig time.
I was going to BE an F-16 pilot. He RUINED my career.

No way - I'd just sing the Hippy Chick song to the recruiting officer then walk away. In case you never heard the hippy chick song t goes a little something like this - It's hard to tell you how feel without hurting you so try and think of your self as I see you -your life revolves around a force of repression and I won't deal with true blue devils of deception - got no flowers for your gun - no hip hip hip no hippy chick. There are good and bad people in almost any place where people work or even pray. Police are no exception to the rule but we do our best to make sure they are good decent professionals. Some not so good ones have to be weeded out once in a while but all in all most are good hard working people. They deserve our respect and they will treat you with respect also, most people who have a dislike for them are people who bring it on themselves.
P.S. They are expected to support each other but not cover for a bad cop .
Still has nothing to do with Black Lives Matter advocating for the killers of black cops :)
