I suppose there'd be hundreds of places I could hide if there was anyone I needed to hide from.
At the uni, I have a place among the stacks in the library where I can read uninterrupted for hours. Most other places there are so public and social that they can be way too distracting.
Don't know how to be anything else. I don't fit into any one group of people or any standard category.
Also, I was born an introvert (specialists can tell from how babies respond to stimuli).
I need and enjoy social interaction, but after an hour or so my energy drains and I need time alone to recharge. I get a real buzz (don't feel drained) if the conversation goes into something deep, but many people don't; it's not so easy to find the ones that feel the same.
With books, I get to listen to some writer exploring a topic in depth, and I find it far more satisfying than small talk.
