Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Do you always go for the joke when you can because you love to make people laugh? Or are you the serious type and remain in your lane?
Separating kids from parents and housing the kids in cages and kennels Never reuniting some of the kids with their parents because they "lost track of" them Diverting millions of dollars from FEMA and elsewhere to build more cages and kennels Fighting for and elevating an accused sexual predator who LIED UNDER OATH
Now the performance at the confirmation hearing of Kickapoo Joy Juice was hilarious to be sure. Everything about it was hilarious. Of course once the hilarity subsided we are stuck with another Clarence Thomas x 100! How is that funny Sbf? I see no humor anywhere there. Oh we can laugh at the folks who support super don and the donnagans and whose religious beliefs do not preclude them from supporting liars and sexual predators. But not for long. Once the laughter dies and people sober up we see the futility of the reality and are very depressed. Do you find depression funny hunny? Apologies for beating this to death. Laughter is good medicine. It's hard to laugh when you're crying.

It can be possible to find dark or sardonic humour even in those. Not in the stark situation, but around the edges. More than a few newspaper cartoons have been about unfunny situations. Reactions, m'dear. An Australian newspaper cartoonist was pilloried recently for a cartoon caricaturing Serena Williams' tantrum at the US Open. Was it racist? Probably. Funny? Yes.

Did you happen to witness that spectacular spectacle Sbf? It was HORRENDOUS! She did that at least once before years ago She is a bully on the court and she totally ruined the win for the young girl who fairly OUTPLAYED her. Serena is almost old enough to be that girl's mother for goodness sake! You'd never know it from the way she misbehaved. Like a 2-year-old having a tantrum! And the crowd was horrible as well. It was a shameful display of the opposite of sportsmanship and I think anyone who behaved that way should be called on it..no matter the color. I could not believe it. The commentators for the most part supported her shameful display of temper. There were a couple of commentators who told the truth. That she could have handled it very differently. But she chose to make a scene and the entire New York crowd cheered her on. DISGUSTING! Anyone adult has a hissy fit tantrum deserves ridicule. Take super don f'r instance. Now we also have Kickapoo Joy Juice whose singular meltdown during his confirmation will be historical proof of his hysterical very girlyman absurd reaction. He lied under oath and he is now a Supreme Court justice. Go figger! :( Sigh. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday! :)

Oh dear. Thanks bunches for showing it to me Sbf. I think that is a bit much and so I can see that it would be taken as racist. Well Serena is an African American so if you show her as white that would be a lie and she is built like a football tackle so if you show her being slender that would also be a lie. That's just the way her body is built. However if that cartoon had been refined somewhat and taken down a few notches the message could have been delivered but not with such a heavy hand. I did think she was monstrous in her delivery and insistence but depicting it that way? It is kinda mean and distorted. Sheesh! :(
