Did Donald Trump our president make an insane, absurd suggestion that if armed guards were at the church that the shooting wouldn't happen?

Really? As if that wouldn't exacerbate the existing problem of availability of guns?

No, it is an accurate assessment of the situation. Police have also agreed.

How do we defend the White House, the banks, our national politicians, our celebrities etc? With armed security. Why? It works.

Why do these hateful crazy people attack schools, places of worship, and other gun is forbidden places? Can you say sitting ducks?

  • Well, maybe at those huge, important places where only the mentally tested and trained have guns. They don't compare to any small church! That's also not a Christian or other religion ethic to have guns in mind to others. Any celebrity who feels like they need to be protected by a gun is just paranoid! Institutions and armed security guards maybe, but I don't agree for every deemed important place or person! Let's bottom line Trump. He said guns are a mental health issue in America which I don't agree with at all. If anything Trump is deranged and needs to leave. Do you think that the public's availability of guns has nothing to do with it? There will always be a certain percentage of loonies in any crowd. For one of those nuts to easily find a gun and use it doesn't help at all.
Besides, what are you going to do at every church there is in the country? Station armed guards at all of them? Does that make sense? No! This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at October 28, 2018 1:10 PM MDT

It would be up to the individual churches. I attended a that had armed security in plain sight and I know there were others on in sight. I had no problem with it. It was actually comforting.
There are some smaller churches who allow their members who have conceal carry permit to bring their firearm in.

I find it quite hypocritical of celebrates who oppose 2nd amendment rights to then turn around and have armed security which the average person can not afford.

So what is the answer? Take my gun? Taking my gun saves no one. The criminal will still have his gun.

It was a synagogue. Important distinction as we Jews don't do churches. As for protection, I would have no problem with an armed police presence at my synagogue. We often have that for High Holiday (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) services anyway. And you can find something negative about every possible solution if you try hard enough.

Yes, he did, and I bore witness to at least two twisted rationalizations on this site of how it wasn’t the case. After parceling out blame to the lack of armed Synagogue security, Trump then flew off to another of his self-glorification rallies to sate his ego.

It is no mystery, at least to me, why Trump supporters are who they are. This post was edited by Don Barzini at October 28, 2018 8:32 PM MDT

It’s always about him, isn’t it. We've seen his hair, they’re all bad days.

I read yesterday that there were armed guards in the synagogue.  I guess not if that is the conversation today.  I do know many Jewish temples and synagogues now have armed security.  It is such a sad reality.

I believe they said they have armed security on the high holy days but not on regular Shabbat.

I have stopped listening to him speaking.  I cannot take it any longer.

I know his whole harangue.  It's always the same.  He's a hero and he has the answer.

The morons who support him will not be affected and the one's that do not, see him for what a moron he is.

    What else is new?

This is the same dope who professed his ability to run in a school where live ammunition is being fired all over and lie and say he is going to shoot it out with the attacker (s).   This fat jerk could not even have the strength to pull a trigger stronger than a water gun's.

This is a DOPE.  No one listens anymore. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at October 28, 2018 8:52 PM MDT
