Bourbon and scotch and even a beer seems to mellow the brain when times get a little rough around the edges. At least you aren't losing your house or getting kicked out of it.

I don't take any meds unless I absolutely have to. If the pain gets so bad I'm literally screaming, I'll force myself to take 2 ibuprofen - but that's all.
No, because that would be illegal and I would prefer not to get arrested. Also, the site TOS expressly forbids promoting unlawful activity and I hear the site owner is a real hardass over those sorts of things. I'd rather not get ousted.
But, you know, what else are almost-sort of-almost like-old friends for?

My dog was an Austrailian Shepheard and was a little over 13-14 when he died. He lived to the max age. By the time I finally did have him put to sleep, it was because the vet said no further treatment could help him. He couldn't walk. His muscles had started to atrophy. He essentially would have had to spend his days totally sedated to not feel pain. That's a crappy life. I would have been keeping him alive for me- he would not have enjoyed life anymore. I don't know why you sent the link, but I didn't just up and decide my dog was sick one day and take him into the backyard and shoot him. He was under the care of a vet and he couldn't be helped anymore.
The question topic seemed to be about arthritis in humans. While I had first thought of posting a humorous response, I decided it would be inappropriate.
After having to put down a German Shepherd a few years ago, I did some research on pain in animals; and the DVM association had a number of good articles online.
