Do you thank the thief first and then celebrate, or do you celebrate first and then thank the thief?

Thanking the thief is the first order of business... no doubt about it.
I am just worried what a thief that is this mentally disturbed might graduate to next.

No. If I didn't wish to attend the performance, I would rather sell the tickets and make some cash. Face value for prime seats at the Met can be north of $500 apiece.

Hypothetical: The tickets were stolen from you before you had a chance to sell them.  Go!

I'd be mildly upset, but that would be about it. HEY WAIT!! This is a formal affair? I'd thank the sum b*tch that took my tickets!

I would be very upset. I love opera. That is if it's not in English. If I can understand the lyrics, they're usually pretty silly stories.
