Orson Welles' "Touch of Evil" always comes to my mind ~
once seen, never forgotten
three-and-a-half minutes of cool suspense
Too late to add to question ~
"Touch of Evil" beginning -- three and a half minutes of cool suspense
:)
First thought; Bambi, seen as a small child (too small) All I remember is Bambi's parents died. It was heart wrenching
I grieved for a very long time. I believe it made me more sensitive to the feelings of animals by seeing a bigger picture of their life.
That scene in "Bambi" is hard to forget. Yes!
Thanks for answering my question, Sunshine!
Don't tell me anymore about that one.
:)
I've not seen it, yet, believe it or not, and I don't like knowing anything about movies before I see them.
Also, I've been told by more than several people that I remind them of the "dog" in that movie. I assume there is a dog, then.
:)
As far as general comments about the movie, I've only heard good things about it.
Thanks for your answer, xoSapphira!
Eraserhead
Forrest Gump, floating feather
I'm impressed. That's a stupendous single take.
Nothing to match it, but I once very much liked the opening scenes from Amadeus.
A completely different meaning from this question today vs. yesterday.
hahaha
Out of Africia - had a very memorable beginning - the music and the ariel views of Africa were breathtaking.
Terminator
I saw that movie once. I may not remember the beginning, exactly, but I liked the movie.
:)
I'm glad you answered, SelangorNight!
And was there a soft piano playing in the background? And maybe Forrest is narrating while the feather floats? -- I'm unsure. I only saw the movie once and don't remember al lthe details but the feather is memorable for me (and Sally Field).
:)
Thanks for answering, Thriftymaid!
I've never seen this movie, believe it or not. But from what I know of it, I;m not surprised it would have a memorable beginning.
Thanks for your answer, Lucia!
And I your .
:)
Hey, MrWitch! I'm glad you watched and liked the beginning of "Touch of Evil!"
:)
Thanks for watching it! I love that beginning - - I can watch it over and over sometimes.
I started to watch your clip but just the opening music and the carriage-in-the-snow was enough for me to stop. I remember greatly the opening moments of this movie and they're rather disturbing to me. But excellent at the same time!
:)
(I took a bit of pride at the time of this movie - - more than several people told me at different times that I reminded them of Tom Hulce's performance as Amadeus. Strange - - another answer here, xoSapphira - - there's a dog in a movie I supposedly resemble, too, ha!)
Thanks, MrWitch!
I've not seen this movie, yet!
So many movies out there!
:)
I'm glad you answered again, Sunshine!
I saw this movie only once, Siegfried. Cool movie! I must admit I don't recall the beginning but that means little - - I'm sometimes very attentive to movie details and sometimes not.
I appreciate your answering, thanks!
Sorry to have promoted such feelings Welby. Such was obviously not my intent.
I'm always struck by the fact he composed this music at 17. At 17 I was doing nothing except fighting, drinking, eating mushrooms and smoking dope, and going nowhere fast. And if you reminded people of Hulce's performance.... That tells me a few things, and I can empathise. :)
The beginning of the movie "Sheena" (starring Tanya Roberts) once inspired a dream I had in which I saved a child from an avalanche.
Drive. I liked the world's slowest car chase.
The Shining's opening credit sequence with the car driving through the mountains sets a creepy tone.
Hmm, guess I cars driving, which I really don't.
