In olden days a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking now heaven knows ANYTHING GOES! We are shockless today. Why ?

We just shrug our shoulders and move on or we refuse to believe it and blame "the other"  and call truth fake. A thick impenetrable wall is what our skin has become. Nothing gets through to it. Nothing can pierce it. Nothing can affect it. Elephant skin?  Our brains are the same.  Nothing gets through to it. Nothing can pierce it. Nothing can affect it. Elephant brain? A defense mechanism against what?

I like barefeet. In winter they're socked and I like that a lot. Different strokes for thee and me D vis a vis socks. So what? Ever wear "slipper sox"? They come in all kinds of delightful colors and designs.  Thank you for your reply D and Happy Monday to thee! :)

I wear what they call Wet Shoes sometimes at home Rosie.....The soles are ultra thin and the uppers more like a stocking net ......they are for walking on a beach or in the sea ,but they are also just unbeliablly comfy......
They are very cheap and try typing in to google Wet Shoes.....they come by post and cost four dollars or a tiny bit more....
they are warm to wear and your feet won't slip on any floor or tile.....I even shower wearing mine ...

    :)

I will Google them sweetie. They sound AWESOME and something I would definitely like. Never heard of them before. After I post this I shall Google them and let you know if they are available in my neck of the woods  . ((hugs)) Just got back D. They are available at Walmart and Dick's Sporting Goods, both close by  me in Hemet but it looks like it is only available online. As it happens we're going to Walmart this morning so I'll check to see if they have them in-store. Thanks again my friend!   :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 10, 2018 7:05 AM MST

I'll be careful. I have them written down on the Walmart marketing list. Today we go to Walmart after we go to City Hall to pay the water/sewer bill. Then we go to Winco (another market) then we go to Mail Depot (to pay the electric bill and mail a birthday card for my sister and a couple other bills) and then we will end up going to the bank. If it's too crowded I'm not gonna stand in line forever. I'll just go back on Wednesday after Jim's dental appointment. Anyway D I will keep you posted about my wet shoe adventures! :)

Because there are those in low-level consciousness that are addicted to raw emotions that incite desire, and fear and shock.

We think that it is exciting to look at an accident on the road, or see Kim Kardashian's naked butt in a Fashion Magazine.

And if her naked butt doesn't do it anymore, there are now pictures of her bent over in sheer black panty hose exposing her huge rear while smoking a cigarette.

That is a day in hell for me.  If I had to pose that way for fame and glory, I am in a hell of my own making.

Gross is the new fashion statement these days.  And her husband is in the White House disrespecting everyone making a fool of himself and thinking he is saying something brilliant while Trump looks on nervously.

That is the state of the USA these days.

I think numbness sets in and we just become impervious to it. Once the brain is rigid as stone (Petrified Forest comes to mind) it is foreverly that. Rigid. The Rigids are in charge right now and have been for a coupla years. What happens to them when their time in the sun is done and they fly off to that campground in the sky or dive down deep within the bowels of the earth? Thank you for your thoughtful reply Sharon! :)

To be honest, nudity and cursing bother me a lot less than open carry.

I just looked that up and that song was written in 1934.  Ethel Merman sang it in the musical.

I would disagree and would suggest that people are looking to be shocked and sometimes almost constantly because they are so insensitive and their lives are so inconsequential only through being shocked can they really feel they are alive.  Otherwise why would so many people patronize the most bloody and gory and awful horror films?  For the kick it gives.  Time was when just a word to the wise said it all and no need to show everything in great detail and s[ell everything out.  Time was when we were willing to protect the honor of each other.  Now seems all so many people want is just the dirt on everybody so they can look down on them and feel superior themselves.  Which really, when you think about it, is none of our business anyway but some people just don't have enough to keep themselves busy I guess to make themselves feel worthwhile so they have to pick on others.
