Do you own or plan to buy a boat?

I was just looking at a 55' yacht for under $240,000.  I'd jump on the deal, but I guess you could say I'm waiting for my ship to come in. :P

I would have no luck using it.  I am no where near water and those things cost a fortune in gas alone.

  • I'm thinking along the lines of perching it up on my property and living in it instead of rebuilding this old shack.  It's basically a pipe dream.

  • That's quite a dream!  When you ship comes in, why don't you just live on it and save the money you were going to spend on the yacht?

  • Well, you know, a ship is a lot bigger.  I don't want to appear the braggart or showoff. :P

  • Thanks.  Most boat interiors, in boats that are that small, look like the inside of a trailer. But the 10 Meter has a modern looking interior and still has reasonable storage space..

It looks new, really nice interior.  55' is very large.  I hope the ship of your dreams docks at your doorstep.  This post was edited by . at December 18, 2018 7:10 AM MST

  • It's funny, because I lived for awhile on Bethel Island (California), right on the levee.   We had a boat dock in the back, surrounded by the Delta. It was amazing.   Yet, I never liked the water, never cared for boating (because of motion sickness).    That was several years ago, so I don't know if it's still the case, but as you entered the island, you could see the many beautiful yachts at the marina.      When I lived there, it felt as if I was on a vacation everyday. I've become sea sick only once, and yes I fed the fish.  Long story...

The only reason to want a boat is because young ladies like to get nekkid thereon. At my age I can only try to imagine how nice it would have been if I had a boat fifty years ago.

For now I am warm and the bills are paid. That's enough. I haven't even seen young ladies since my daughter graduated from high school. And they were all fully clothed.

Yes, I own 2 boats, one is a 22’ patrol-style boat that resembles what you’d see the police use. Powered by 2 - 150hp Mercury outboards.

This is a pic of my baby, my custom 65’ Hatteras motor yacht. I probably spend more time on this than anywhere else except my bed. This post was edited by Don Barzini at December 18, 2018 7:11 AM MST
