I haven't read a lot about this plan, but I don't think it applies to those who are too disabled to work.

I know nothing about it L. I just read about it because it is just happening now. However I would put nothing past the don of the john to cut off anyone who doesn't "work" for the food stamps. I have no trust in him to do anything fair or just or caring. None.  Thank you for your reply! :)

I would imagine he would need Congress to submit a bill for his signature.  I don't think he can just make it happen on his own.

Why do you need food stamps if you are working????

I had food stamps.  I had to stop using them when I got a job.

Does anything this administration do make any freaking sense?

Some people still qualify when they work...normally it is families who still need the assistance.

Actually, Bill Clinton signed this law back in the 1990s (Welfare to Work...I think), President Trump is just telling the states they must enforce the law again. I don't know if it was Bush or Obama who allowed them to stop enforcement. Some states never stopped.

No, the work requirement does not apply to disabled or elderly or children. Just those capable of working. There is an exception in my state for Mothers of young children (under 3yrs old) This post was edited by my2cents at December 23, 2018 5:19 AM MST
