So I buy a quick-fix 'solution' like "The Amazing Fruit That Make You Loose 2 Pounds For Each Fruit You Eat" and eat 10 of them ;-) It does not make me loose weight, but at least I can boast about "My great new diet".

Doesn't work that way unless you also want to inject yourself with some horrid chronic illness that upsets your desire for food.
Or you can really go overboard and fast until you become anorexic.
But the best way whether you are out to lose weight or not, is to simply eat well, proper portions and exercise. Exercise is for HEALTH first and weight as an additional perk.
Your muscles when toned will burn fat efficiently. Your muscles when lax and allowed to atrophy will make exercising a major chore.
