Do you think this is a good proverb?: "Use your friends wisely."

" . . . before they have a chance to stab you in the back."

" . . . because you never know when they'll need to use you too."

" . . . because foolish use of friends is foolish."

" . . . and your enemies even wiselier."  [Yes, I know it's not a real word.]

" . . . because taking advantage of friendship is a delicate task."

Meh, so I won't win any awards for proverb-writing.  Sue me.

Hmm. I don't think friends should be used, but hopefully they will be there when we need them the most. However it will be sad if we only are there for each other when we really need someone. Friendships should hold it all, for good as bad times. I don't like the word use in this context.
