How about being in a nice open meadow?  Both of your choices get my claustrophobia going.

Oh good golly miss molly! You're claustrophic TOO? Geez Shuhak where will the similarities between thee and me end I wonder? But out in an open meadow you are a target m'dear. How's about an open meadow somewhere "out there" where no one can possibly intrude upon the moment? I once saw a very nifty Twilight Zone( I think.) This guy goes to a museum and looks inside a miniature dollhouse and sees a young lady at a piano and hears the music. On other occasions when he looks inside he sees a man threaten the woman. Things happen. He tells people and they think he is a nutjob. He pretends he made it all up. He sneaks back into the museum and the last frame shows him inside the dollhouse sitting next to the young woman. I guess that would be his forever after place to be! Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)

When I think about open meadows, I think about the ones I've seen up in the high Sierra.  The only intruder there is an occasional deer or ground squirrel.  No walls to fall in on me, no lid over my head, and plenty of air to breathe (albeit rather thin air).

Are you a camper/hiker fan Shuhak? Ever go backpacking? I love the outdoors TO LOOK AT from a nice clean warm or cool place. Not actually BE IN for days and days and get dirty! I know that sounds way silly but I like to sleep in a clean bed, have a shower, not worry about bugs, the cold, the heat or whatever is out there beyond my control. Visiting a meadow or the mountains and taking in the beauty of the surroundings would be great as long as it TEMPORARY! It's funny or maybe not funny at all but I know gals who LOVE TO GO CAMPING! They're real good sports and don't mind the discomfort or inconvenience. No one has ever accused me of being "a real good sport"! I like my comfort. I like to know what to expect. I like to control my environment. SIGH. Being a world traveler and visiting foreign places on my own? Never gonna happen. Not my cuppa tea!  Thank you for your reply m'dear! :)

I'm mostly a day hiker - group in the morning and back home at night.  I don't mind camping (a sleeping bag can be warmer than a real bed), but going without a shower for more than 2 days drives me nuts. (Unclean!  Unclean!!)
No, I've never backpacked.  I especially enjoy hiking Castle Peak and the surrounding area, as well as the Grouse Ridge area.  There are miles and miles of trails.  Part of the Pacific Crest Trail wraps around the south and west sides of Castle Peak and Grouse Ridge is littered with lakes.

I'll choose an animal in a zoo if that zoo could be the  white house.  Maybe I'd be a spider so I could  spin web messages about Trump like - have you seen my umbrella? Cheers and happy weekend!

Didja ever see the movie "CHARLOTTE'S WEB" Nanoose? Or maybe the movie title was different but that was the title of the book. Charlotte was a lovely spider. Her voice was that of Julia Roberts. A very loving and caring spider and very wise. I fell in love with spiders that very moment and I think of Charlotte whenever I see one which is very rare. Bugs and insects are almost non-existent any more. Where did they all disappear to and why? Sigh. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday!   :) This post was edited by RosieG at January 5, 2019 10:51 AM MST

I think I'd rather work in museum storage ... at the Smithsonian.
Imagine all the weird trivia I could learn from the non-exhibits.

That is a hugely GREAT idea Walt! Hugely Great. I'd love that too! I mean my gosh the places you would go in your imagination based on the actual things you be dealing with and touching? I've gone to museums and seen exhibits of things people used long ago...even back to ancient times and I always get goosebumps. Looking at the past in the present is kinda magical to me and of course people futurely will be looking back at their past which is our now. Life is a circle of course. Very excellently portrayed in THE LION KING! The Circle of Life!  Of course if you keep going in circles you never get anywhere do you? Have you ever visited the Smithsonian? I subscribe to the magazine but I'm sure actually visiting there would be sublime. Thank you for your reply Walt! :)

I went there once with my parents, when I was in elementary school.  We took 1 day to go through the Air & Space museum, and some other exhibits.  Unfortunately, they didn't allow flash photography, and little "brownie" cameras aren't good for low light.  I vaguely remember the pendulum and some other displays.

Lucky you! I don't understand why flash photography is not allowed? Does the light damage the exhibits? How? I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply Walt and Happy Tuesday!  :) This post was edited by RosieG at January 8, 2019 6:38 AM MST

Here's a good discussion, on how it can cause damage (basically the light causes colors to fade):
