I sure hope she is and I sure hope she doesn't give in to his ridiculous demands.  I have to admit that not long ago, I thought that it might be time for someone else to be Speaker of the House, but I am glad she was re-elected.  I think she will be strong enough to counteract Trump's tantrums.  It doesn't seem that anyone in his party is willing to rein him in because they are terrified they will not be re-elected in 2020, but she doesn't have to worry about that and she can go after Trump unfettered.

A newbie would have been a DISASTER in my opinion. She has a sterling track record and accomplished many things during her time as Speaker. She outshined Boehner and Ryan in terms of what she could do with her fellow politicians. She knew how to get a bill through. She can count. She always knew if she could get a job done, had the votes and it never failed. Both Boehner and Ryan had nothing but failures. Their people didn't listen to them or respect them which was quite obvious. So it will be a refreshing change. I think she agreed to have that job as Speaker for a specific amount of time. Gives her time to train successors. She can't go on forever but to her credit she is going to stay on the job until she knows she can trust whomever it is to SERVE THE PEOPLE and not any man/woman who happens to be prez who follows her as Speaker. Good times ahead for Dems and the country. Not so hot for stable boy and his trumpican worshippers. Thank you for your reply L! :) This post was edited by RosieG at January 6, 2019 10:08 AM MST

I believe she agreed to retire voluntarily in two years.  That should be sufficient time for her to train her successor.  On Face the Nation this morning, there were four newly elected people who made an awful lot of sense.  Two of them were former military, who have a unique perspective on how any withdrawal from current Middle East operations should work.  All of them agreed that it would be premature to seek impeachment until Mueller's investigation is complete.  Much as I would like to see Trump booted, I want the House to have as much ammunition to do that as possible and Mueller's report will be a very important piece of information.

I totally agree with thee. I think there is already more than enough evidence for impeachment. HOWEVER I want his figurative coffin nailed shut and the Mueller report will no doubt do that. But honestly do you think there will ever be an end to it? Every rock Mueller turns over has multiple critters slithering out who must be investigated.  The wide scope of corruption is staggering. Maybe we will NEVER know the entirely of it. I'm gonna ask. SIGH. Thank you for your thought reply L! :)

I think there's enough evidence also, but a lot of it comes from people whose reputations are less than sterling to begin with, so maybe Mueller is trying to obtain corroborative evidence from someone who may not be so tainted.  Yes, every investigation into one person leads to more investigations.  I don't think we will know the true extent of Trump's machinations, but all we need is for Mueller to get a rock solid case against him and his kids to put them all away for a long, long time.  Happy Monday. :)

I wonder what the magic thing will be for Mueller to know he has ENOUGH  to move ahead? Can he start releasing what he has AND still continue to investigate? Or does he have be all done first? Thank you for your thoughtful reply L! I have heard that stable boy seems more afraid of what the SDNY has on him and his family than what Mueller may have. All the trump family shady dealings for decdes implicating his kids bigly. I don't know for sure if that's true but if I were in his shoes I'd stay in bed with the covers my head. He does the opposite. He goes out and talks and lies and gives the investigators more ammunication. What's up with that? I'm gonna ask!  Thank you for your thoughtful reply sweetie! :)

I can't answer that because I don't know what Mueller has, so I can't foretell what he would need.  He isn't holding it all to the end because of how many bad actors have already been indicted and confessed to felonies.  Trump must figure that the best defense is a strong offense.  In my opinion, he IS stongly offensive. :)

His investigations just got a six-month extention. That should tell you he's got lots more investigation ahead. Thank you for your reply!
