  • American President should not have been a "no experience necessary" job (within the field, elected and governmental service).   Some public service should be mandatory, along with civics.    This guy has been and always will be a joke.  A very disgusting, unfortunate joke.

I totally agree with thee lavender. The only one who is laughing is Vlad Putin who got his puppetlapdog to do what he ordered him to do. SIGH. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday!  :)

I would have to qualify your statement by saying it would depend on where you were living.  I can't imagine Syrians or Yemenis or most anyone in Africa thinking the U.S. wouldn't be a better place, even with Trump.

They face certain separation from their children Shuhak. Locking up their children in cages and kennels and forcing them to live in tent cities in Texas. That is better? Never to be united with them again? How is that BETTER? Thank you for your reply. Do you have any kids? If you don't you can't possibly imagine what it would like to have your children torn from your arms never to see them again. No disrespect intended. But you simply cannot grasp the pain and sorrow and knowledge that your children are afraid and you can't do a thing about it. Thank you for your reply. I understand what you're saying, but if these parents really believe that they or their children will be killed or worse - sold to traffickers - they seem to be willing to take the chance of being separated from them.  At least the child is alive and there is hope that one day, they will be reunited or at least the child will be taken care of in a safer environment.  I don't have to be a mom to understand how difficult a choice that must be for some parent to make.  It brings to mind the Jews who handed over their children to strangers leaving Germany in order to save them from the ovens.  They, too, had no way of knowing whether they themselves would survive and, if they did, if they would ever find their children.  I have to imagine that the overriding concern is to do anything that will keep them alive.  With life, there is hope.

What would YOU do L?  Would you stay in a country where CERTAIN death awaited you and your children or would you flee to an elsewhere THAT USED TO WELCOME asylum seekers? Knowing that you will be separated from your children. That they will be caged like animals in kennels  or forced to live in tent cities? Do they take showers? Do they have clean clothes to wear? What about those who require medication? Who hugs them and sings to them and tells them bedtimes stories? Who tucks them in and tells them "I love you"? I think it is most disgusting and reprehensible a thing to do. The guilty are NOT the parents but the  so-called government headed by a wackadoodly evil monstrous weirdo who is so cold heartless cruel and inhuman he doesn't think twice about what he is doing. He doesn't give a sh** about any of it! SIGH. All the stupid dumb accrues to the stable boy and his thugs. NONE OF IT should be put on the shoulders of the parents. NONE. Just my opinion.  So we wait and see and are at the mercy of the worst most evil vile monster in the history of the world. And his supporters. Will we survive? I dunno. Time will tell. I do know that those 14,000 children separated from their parents by decree of this evil monster are ruined for life. Crying themselves to sleep at night. Undoubtedly dirty and hungry and scared  All because their parents wanted them to live not die or be raped or slaughtered. I think they suffered enough in their own countries. More suffering is something that ought not be tolerated by any AMERICAN but it is being tolerated and supported and embraced. They are all SOB's in my opinion. A pox on all of them. May they suffer futurely as they make others suffer. The code of Hammurabi? An eye for an eye?  If I were one of those parents and my child were locked up in a cage alone away from me I'd be frantic. Sorry for the rant but I am very ANGRY about this. AND I am very disgusted that other AMERICANS are NOT very angry..angry enough to do something. LIke maybe MARCH to the tent cities jn DROVES. March to the holding prisons BY THE MILLIONS. Stand up for what is right! This post was edited by RosieG at January 8, 2019 3:16 AM MST

I honestly don't know what I would do. Rosie.  I'm sure this was not an easy decision for these parents to make.  Having said that, I don't believe they knew the dire conditions they were going to face when they got here and, if they had, they may have made a different decision.  The parents did have a choice of being separated from their children or all of them returning to their country of origin.  I also wonder why they did not accept Mexico's offer of asylum.
