Why is "flash" photography not allowed in some places? How does the light harm the exhibits? Anyone know?

    They say that the UV light from the flash damages fine old peices of Art ...fabrics and the colours to....like sunlight it makes things fade ....leave a peice of planed wood in sunlight for a day or so and it will become much darker...it doesn't have to be directly in the sun either. Rosie....

    They say that the light from any flash are negligible ...but still ban the use of them....
