  • Yes, when we kids, we used to prank call people and they never knew who it was ... OK, we were brats.

  • It'd be cool to see you let your hair down, so to speak.

Yes. You actually answered the phone back then. You also learned how to speak on a phone with manners.

I remember when *69 came out and you could return a call without knowing the number. Cut down on crank calls. Lol

  • I wonder if *69 still works on landlines.

  • We can dial *67 and it blocks your number being seen.

  • Haha I still use that on my landline sometimes.    I think I have also tried it on my cell phone.

  • I don't have a landline anymore.  There are 3 operational cell phones in this house, each number used for different purposes.

  • We had to keep our landline as part of a cheaper package with Comcast/Xfinity.  Otherwise, we would have dumped it long ago.  Good idea to have different numbers ...

  • My phone is also internet for my PC, tethering.  $45/mth for phone and internet.  I do have to throttle my online time, but just posting and browsing doesn't eat up much data at all.  Gotta stay away from the down/uploading.

I don't know I don't have one to test. I do have a VPN, have not tried the *69 cause of caller ID.

  • The element of surprise.  I remember when I was about 16 years old, if I was going out, I would always unplug my phone so my parents wouldn't enter my room and answer it.  I figured if it was important enough, they would call back.
