When you post a picture that you took, on social media, or any website, do you remove all the metadata from it before posting?

... if you don’t remove it, anyone can see location taken( if location services not turned off your device)  date and time taken, any applications used to edit or modify your picture... and lots of stuff!
This is a public service announcement... cos I’m bored as’ .

I don't post personal picts on social media. On business products and I am ok with them knowing the location of my products.

  • That‘s good then :) I’ve been away from social media for almost a year. I’ve been noticing how slack people are at removing metadata lately. But if not concerned with it, that’s fair.

  • I am not afraid of people knowing my location.  I have mentioned it on here and other places.

  • I live in a small town, I’m not so much concerned with it on a small site like this, but on larger platforms, people should at least be aware of the info they are giving, IMO.

  • I agree. People should indeed be aware.

  • I wasn’t aware for a long time. It’s  kind of scary when you find out what info someone can pick up about you,  just from snagging a picture you post.

I never post any of my own photos; only ones that I find on the internet.
