I don't drink tea for flavor.  I use it for maladies like a sore throat or something like sleepytime tea.

Six tea bags in a very hot water...foot bath. Try it sometime. I had some g/fs that loved it. So do I.

  • Crap, here it is after 2 in the afternoon already and I haven't even given any thought to food.  That might explain my splitting headache. :P

My mother told me about her fondness for Postum. It was a very common drink during the depression because it was cheaper than coffee.

Postum was off the market, so I got some barley tea for her. Meh. That was the only thing I knew about the recipe: barley tea.

Eventually I discovered that the Postum brand had been bought and was on the market again, so I bought a bottle. Mom was tickled to have Postum again. Until I mentioned that it cost twenty bux now, twelve for the bottle and eight for postage. She was aghast. She refused to drink it again. Too expensive!

  • My mother in law loved Postum too.  I found some online for her ... expensive for sure!

  • My mom grew up in a Mormon household.   That's what some of the stricter Mormons in her family always drank.   The Jack Mormons of course kept their coffee and liquor.

  • Peppermint tea is great to help relax the gut and aid in digestion.   If I don't drink that, I will generally choose one of the Pukka teas.

Lavender/chamomile. It's nearing bedtime and it allegedly helps promote sleep.

  • I’m not much of a tea drinker, I prefer coffee. I do keep a decafinated cinnamon spice herbal tea in the house for when I want a warm drink in the evening. I had one last night, so yummy :)
