Did you KNOW that grocery stores who know you will give you free stuff if you ask? Per puppet boy. Problem solved, right?

How many times have you shopped in grocery stores? Ever ask for free food and got it? I wonder how often puppet boy has gone to a grocery store and asked for free stuff and got it? Has he ever been in one?

Uh-huh.  Yeah, right.  I worked in grocery stores for 30 years.  The first thing you learn is that there's this little thing called "shrink" - and stores hate it!.  Simply put, "shrink" is lost money (and stores are there to make money).  Anything that comes in teh "back door" but doesn't go through the registers is considered "shrink".  Giving away free stuff is shrink.  Giving surplus products to local food banks is shrink.  A broken bottle is shrink.  A single dropped/tasted grape is shrink (yep, it's that stringent).

Believe me, in a store nothing is "free"!  NOTHING!  Someone pays for everything - and it's usually the customer (one way or another).  In fact, I've worked for stores where "free" is considered a 4-letter word (it shall NOT be used on company premises).

I worked for a couple who owned 7 McDonald's Restaurants and we were aware of SHRINKAGE...aka theft! Employees would take out cases of meat or cheese disguised as "trash" and then later go back to the trash area and pick it up and take it home. Nice. Well every time the puppet boy opens his mouth he either lies or makes statements that are so absurd we know he is far removed from the real world of real people who have real bills to pay and also a stupid dumb billionaire.. Sigh. Which just gave me another question to ask. Thank you for your thoughtful reply Shuhak! :)
