  • There are about 580,000 people living in Wyoming.  It's a beautiful state with vast plains, canyons, rivers, national parks and the Rocky Mountains.  People rave about how gorgeous it is when they visit there.

Almost every other state has a city bigger than that!

  • I have a lot of family in Wyoming, mostly Jackson Hole and Cheyenne.   It's one of my most favorite states, just beautiful.

  • My high school U.S. history teacher grew up in Wyoming and often told us about life there.

Wyoming's population is about the same as Sacramento and a couple surrounding communities, where I grew up. It makes sense that you'd run into few people from Wyoming given its low population.

I had a friend in school who was originally from Wyoming and went back to stay with her dad every summer. It's not a densely-populated state and I mostly associate it with ranching. I'm sure that's not all the state has to offer though. It's the stuff of old country music songs too. *sigh* Vintage Garth.

Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Oregon, Montana, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and few others are among the less popular or less populated states, I suppose!

Illinois is home to one of the biggest,  and least desirable, cities in the country.

Jackson Pollock is a Wyomingite.  I know two people who have moved there at retirement.

It's gorgeous and is the snowiest state in the USA.  I got caught in a blizzard on October 4, yes October 4, in Wyoming a few years back.  I was lucky enough to make it to a town where I found, and paid about four times what it should cost, a room.  Travelers were sitting in the convenience store next to my hotel.  The hotel lobby was full of people too.  It was an adventure.

That's why it is less populated, I guess!
