    There are ways to introduce that information that can be graceful or insulting.

    Depends on the wording. 
    "I don't like/agree with ABC."

    "Anyone who likes/agrees with ABC is an idiot/racist/bigot/stupid/etc."

    The second example it would be an insult and rude.

    If I know I'm right, I don't argue with those who disagree. Nor do I feel it an attack or insult. I just give a smile and a quiet chuckle at their ignorance.
