I used to be it is just that I am a few decades older and I am no longer enamoured.

I was around for Grand Funk Railroad and that ilk.

 I don't think you're much older than I am.  I am all over the map with music, but I will always love my metal/thrash.

For some reason copy and paste didn't save the Seekers link the first time - the Rod Stewart one was an answer to Randy's question about losing one's virginity.

Ah gotcha, I was listening it,  then came back to reply and it had changed. 

Mum loved the Seekers, I played and sang The Carnival Is Over at her funeral - cracked in the last verse and finished the song with tears streaming down my face. I don't play guitar much anymore, I get too emotional when I pick the instrument up.

That must have been hard to get through. Can see why be emotional to pick up again. 

I dunno, Sharon, this one might belong in my sappy  love song question. There‘s a fine line here lol.
