    That is a totally stupid day to send a friend a message. This is a day when lovers spend time together.  Not friends.   I mean friends can hang tggether, of course, but not celebrating being in love.

    Maybe.
    On the whole I don't like the commercialisation of things that should centre on love (of any kind.)

    But it happens that Ari and I are in a really good space together at the moment.

    Tomorrow, we'll see a good art movie together, take a long walk on the beach, probably have a swim in the estuary, and later share a meal at a local Vietnamese restaurant.
    Probably there'll be zero romance - he's not that type and hasn't much mojo -
    but there will be a deep and contented enjoyment of companionship, friendship, good will.

    I celebrate it with my kids. I do more platonic love gestures on that day than I ever do romantic ones. Just a different view, I guess.
