I think they are a crap county and are a threat to the world not just the US.

Before you respond with the Putin puppet line, do I need to post what President Trump has done against Russia yet again?

You may have to post it. Some people just don't seem to be able to grasp it the first 9 or 10 times it's posted. :)

You know m2c I realize that you are devoted to the gasbag. What you see and what I see are poles apart. I don't try to convince you of anything because your brain is wired to automatically react as it does and you cannot help it. You can save your lists of things your wonderboy does. Your sources are wired just the same as you. So you will only present what you agree with. How is that helpful? I see the gasbag as a treasonous traitor servicing Putin and giving Putin everything he could ever hope to ask for and more. You see the opposite. You know I will never look through your eyes because what you see is controlled by how your mind works which is set in stone forevermore. You can cut and paste all the laudatory articles about the gasbag that you get from your right-wing sources. They comfort you. You feel justified in your views. Carry on.  I don't mind. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday to thy.

I am listing action taken by President Trump. Feel free to google each one and verify and choose your own source.

      • In response to Russian interference in the 2016 election and other malfeasance, the Trump Administration has sanctioned Russian oligarchs and intelligence entities.
      • Throughout 2017 and 2018, the U.S. sanctioned numerous Russian actors for violating non-proliferation laws by supporting weapons programs in Iran and Syria, and supporting North Korea's development of weapons of mass destruction.
      • The Trump Administration has issued sanctions against more than one hundred Russian actors and firms for Russia's destabilizing actions in Ukraine and its ongoing occupation of Crimea.
      • In March 2017, in response to Russia's use of a military-grade chemical weapon in the United Kingdom, the Trump Administration ordered multiple Russian consulates in the United States closed and expelled 60 Russian intelligence officers.
    • Due to sanctions imposed by the Trump Administration, the Russian economy and Russian geo-economic projects have been severely constrained.
      • In 2018, as Russian investors reacted to new sanctions, the Russian Ruble made its biggest fall in over three years, and, as of July 2018, is down nearly nine percent against the dollar.
      • As a part of its sanctions against Russia, the United States has prevented numerous companies from partnering with Russian offshore oil projects, denying these projects access to capital and key resources.
      • The Trump Administration has also opposed Russian President Vladimir Putin's largest geo-economic project, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which could generate hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for Russia.
    • In the wake of Russian provocations, President Trump has exercised U.S. military power and worked to bolster U.S. allies in Europe.
      • In 2017, President Trump approved the sale of lethal weapons to Ukraine addressing the country's vulnerability to Russian-backed separatists in its eastern provinces.
      • Under the Trump Administration, Russian mercenaries and other pro-Syrian regime forces attacking U.S. troops in Syria were killed.
      • The U.S. has increased troops and its military capability in Eastern Europe and dramatically increased training and drills with its NATO partners.
      • In 2018, the U.S. Department of Defense increased its spending as part of the European Deterrence Initiative by $1.4 billion dollars.
      • Due to pressure from President Trump, U.S.' NATO allies have increased defense expenditures by five percent

Depends of if you're talking Russia as a whole, or at a specific time.

On the whole, Russia has an impressive culture and rich (and bloody) history.
Under those terms, I would say Russia IS a great country.

Modern Russia seems to be trying to regain the "glory days" of either the Russian Empire or Soviet Union.
Under those terms, I would say Russia is a global threat.

I am talking about Putin's Russia. The country that meddled in and controlled the outcome of the 2016 American presidential election. The country that meddled in the 2018 midterm election. The country that never stopped meddling and will invade and tamper with the 2020 presidential election . The country that gasbag services bigly continually. THAT Russia Walt. Thank you for your thoughtfuly reply. If we view Russia through its artistic and literary and musicial contributions it is indeed impressive. Politically? Not so much hot as inflamed and burning. I think Putin lucked out bigly with the gasbag. I think the gasbag has well-pleased his master and will continue to do so until?  Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! :)

Is Russia a great country? In my opinion no. Is Russia a threat to the United States? Yes. But then so is China, Iran, North Korea and any other power hungry country that wants what we have or destroy what we have.

Greatest threat to us comes from our own sloth and laziness - our willingness to sell our native freedom and responsibility and ambition for more and more government control.  Once that process is complete we won't need any enemies because we will have become our enemy.
