Did you know that there are recommended, standard heights for installing towel rods in bathrooms?

  
48 inches from the ground for adult use

    What about very short or very tall people?  My wife complains that I hang pictures too high for most people to get a good look at them.  That's because I'm taller than most people.  Wouldn't the same principal apply to bathroom towel racks?  Let's think this through now.

      That's why it's called both recommended and standard.  Nothing prevents anyone from hanging them at different heights.

    You have to fold them in half to hang 'em anyway.  You need 10' towels for them to hang all the way to the floor.

    Yes.  There are "standard" measurements for most placements.  Kitchen cabinets should have 18" between countertop and bottom of wall cabinets.  DIY folk don't do this and sometimes ruin  chance of selling house at top dollar.  Also, bottom of a microhood should be no less than 20" from surface of the range.  In Florida , the center of a toilet may not be closer than 15" to a wall or cabinet, meaning 30" is the absolute smallest space (width) into which a toilet may be installed.
