graphite to is a great conductor of Electricty and can withstand temperatures up to 3000c .....

    Not sure why it would be an advantage for graphite in a portable telephone to withstand temperatures well above the melting-point of steel, when the rest of the electronics would be destroyed at little more than the boiling-point of water.

    Actually I think graphite will burn at high temperatures in the presence of oxygen anyway: it is pure carbon. And it's been used in electrical equipment for a very long time, too, including for the electrodes in arc-lamps. In those, it does indeed burn away, necessitating a mechanism that maintains the gap between the two electrodes.
