Did the FAA let Boeing inspect and certify its own planes? Did they have a cozy decades-long relationship?

If so let the lawsuits begin. Boeing might sued out of existence. Since the FAA has done this for years ALLEGEDLY we cannot blame Don don for b eing guilty of hiring all the best people. He hasn't been prez for decades. I guess Congress better start investigatin the FAA and  BOEING and let know why this happened, how it happened for so long and what is going to be about it and to them for being responsible for the deaths of maybe 350 people in the last two crashes? What is a life worth on today's market?

The big question is ... what caused the crash?
The next question is ... who made that part (or software)?  Since Boeing doesn't make all the parts.

Yeah ... if the FAA is letting Boeing certify its own planes, we need to know that.
And if so, is it just Boeing, or is it every plane manufacturer?

But no ... I doubt Boeing will go out of business.
The government won't let it.  The only competition to its large airliners are foreign.

Looking at the list of aircraft manufacturers in the US, I notice some I only associate with military aircraft ... is the FAA responsible for those, as well? This post was edited by Walt O'Reagun at March 21, 2019 3:04 AM MDT

It was that thingamajig part that they disengaged to save the aircraft. What it's job was I do not know. But it failed bigly more than twice but fortunately the  pilots knew what was causing it and how to disengage it. Just not the pilots flying the two that crashed. I don't like COZY relationships. They always affect the rest of us negatively. Sucks. Thank you for your reply Walt and Happy Thursday!  :)
