      The second one is a term of endearment that while may be applied to a family member, is not itself a familiar term.

    Babe was a pig's name.  It's also a familial name.  Anything might be a familial name in someone's family.  People call their kids all kinds of ridiculous things.  One of the worst ones I ever heard was Bobo.  Of course it got shortened later.     I’m not referring to names or nicknames or pet names or terms of endearment, the lists of which are potentially endless.  Instead, I’m specifically referring to words such as mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, aunt, cousin, child, nephew, etc.  Any of these may also be names, nicknames, pet names, terms of endearment, etc., true.
