    Bail is bond.  I.e., bail bondsman.

    But it is not just an either/or proposition.  

    I can say my thing and be right.  Bail can also be bond.  

    James can not be bail.  But James can be BOND.  James Bond.

    I think I should bail on this answer.

    Bail is what you pay the court to be released.  Bond is insurance for that payment.   You buy the bond from a bail bondsman.  People get confused.  I think we should call the bond" bail insurance" to help with that.
