Why did GOD create gnats? Of what value are they other than to annoy irritate tick off? Or is that why? To test us to see what gets to us?

They also help regulate plant populations by transporting nutrients between plants. When they aren't collecting nutrients, they make a delectable meal for other insects and birds. In fact, there's actually an insect eating bird with a special appetite for gnats. It's named the “gnatcatcher.”

All of God's creation has a purpose - whether we understand that purpose or not.  Gnats, while bothersome to us, do serve a purpose.  Besides helping to pollinate some flowers( flowers also have their purpose)  Gnats are also a food source for some birds and for other insects.  These other creatures also perform functions that help keep the ecosystem going.

As hard as it is for us to imagine, God loves him the exact amount he loves you and everyone else.  The length and depth of God's love (the "how and why") is beyond our comprehension.

So GOD does not weep when his children are being harmed? GOD has no expectations of us? GOD is love and embraces all no matter what tracks we leave behind? GOD loves Hitler just as HE loves you? I find that impossible to accept Shuhak. I talk to GOD daily quietly. No HE doesn't talk to me. HE listens. Now I was taught that GOD is love and I believe that. But I also believe like any parent HE has expectations of us and the main expectation is "do unto others as you would have others do unto you". That is to say I believe GOD'S judgment of us is based on that. The more kind  considerate caring fair honest we are to one another the happier GOD is with us. That is my opinion. I do not share yours. Thank you for your reply. GOD would not have made me as I am whimsically without reason or purpose Shuhak. GOD gave me this brain to figure things out. So I do. You do too but your conclusion is not the same as my conclusion. I can only go with what makes sense to me. It does not make sense to me that GOD would love a donald trump as much as he would love Mother Theresa. It may be an intellectual limitation but it is what I believe and who I am. When GOD wants us to do unto others as we would have them do unto us I think HE means it. I do not think HE is joking. HE is serious. In my opinion. Yes God weeps when his children are being harmed!  Yes, God has expectations of us... great expectations!  And yes, He loved Hitler just the same as He loves us.  This is not to say He condoned Hitler's actions.  God is our Father.  As such he loves ALL His children - equally.  We cannot comprehend God's love.  To us it's illogical for anyone to love someone like Hitler  Yet dispute the man's actions, he was still created in God's image.  God had expectations of him just as He does us.  Unfortunately, that man chose to commit atrocities instead.  It boggles our minds to think that anyone could love someone who did what that man did.  Yet God loved every one of us so much that He sent His Son to die in our place.  What worse atrocity is there than crucifying the Son of God?  Yet that's a crime we're ALL guilty of!  Our sins nailed Jesus to that cross.  His love for us kept Him there.

I totally agree that God is pleased with those who do good, who are caring and honest.  Contrary to want many believe, we're not some helter skelter fluke of evolution.  God created us and He created us with a purpose.  That purpose (expectation) is for us to love Him (as He loves us) and to love others (in the manner that God loves us).  He even gave us "gifts" (such as skill, money, time, generosity, caring, a shoulder for others to lean on, etc.) for us to use to carry out His expectations.   However, God doesn't force us to love Him or to love others (as is evident by the world around us).  He gave us free will.  We must choose for ourselves whether we want to do good or evil.  Despite what many think, there will come a "day of reckoning" (judgement) in which EVERY PERSON will have to give account for what they did in their life.

God doesn't joke around.  What He says He means.  God's "commandment" to us is for us to love God with all our being and to love our neighbor as ourselves.  "Do to others as you'd want them to do to you" is the same thing as "love your neighbor as yourself".  When we love others we are doing what he expects of us.  When we don't, we're storing up judgment against ourselves - whether or not God loves us.
