Hope everyone is doing well here. I haven't been on for several weeks. I had much going on in my personal life, but ready to rock and roll again and chat it up with friends here.
I had taken a long road trip to Canada with my husband and met family I never knew before! Meeting aunts and cousins on my Mom's side felt so healing after losing her a few months back.
Anyone else do anything interesting this summer?
I don't have much left to my immediate family, so I feel very happy to have made the effort.
I am sooooooo happy for you. You waited so long to get something that would accommodate your physical therapy and all your other needs. Well deserved!
I actually do. They are in western Canada in Calgary and Edmonton. My comment was said in jest as Canadians are known for their quirky sense of humor...humour...whichever lol.
Glad you had a great summer. Happy you're back!
One really nice lady who works downstairs in the kitchen for the residents and a lady I knew when I worked at the Mission 10 years ago. We have the quietest floor in the building...lol
Thank you Peas!! I love it here!
Winter almost at an end on my side of the globe - in the subtropics, mostly dry and mild, the work season for farmers. Wet season soon, when all tools must be downed.
Have heard Canada is beautiful, seen lots of shots. Did you have any time in nature?
That is great SA.
Welcome back PP.
All is well over here. When not working usually swimming or boating since it has been so Damn hot this summer. Anxiously awaiting for an end to this God forsaken summer of sweltering heat and a return of wonderful winter snow and refreshing cold air.
Rough summer to be honest, but yes, that trip was very healing.
Thank-you. Good to see you again.
Canada is indeed beautiful and yes, we took in a lot of the nature there. We drove through a lot of beautiful, mountainous areas before crossing the border as well, so I would say it was a scenic trip all around. We took in many different bed and breakfasts. We prefer that to hotels. You not only get someone cooking you a gourmet breakfast in the morning for no extra charge, but you get a room that feels better than home. Some of the houses we stayed in were 200 years old, but had the modern amenities that we so appreciated.
Hey RiverRat. Hasn't this been the hottest summer in a long time? I was shocked to see how much upstate NY and Canada having such a severe drought situation. It's gotten pretty dry now in Pa. after a very wet start.
I too am looking forward to the fall.
Thank you. I can no longer access my emails from work, so I have to respond to them when I get home unless I happen to remember to look at the posts I answered. :)
I went through that when my Mom passed and now we are dealing with my husband's Mom. OMG! Anyone that survived the great depression didn't throw out a thing. It's a long and tedious job. My MIL keeps trying to give me some of her things and I flat out tell her that I am trying to downsize myself. I don't want to be surrounded by a hoard of useless things.
Quirky is right! Hahaha.
My mom didn't have much to say about it because when he dementia got worse, we got her into a nursing home, so she didn't even remember that she lived in that apartment, let alone what she had in it.
I didn't have to clean anything out until my Mom died. She went into a nursing home for physical therapy and was intending on coming home. She died before ever making it out.
