I can't remember the last time that I spent cash and got coins for change.  I probably have a few coins in my purse but I'd have to check.

  • I have change everywhere, but I think it’s  been accumulating for years.  I’m gonna roll it this weekend, maybe.

I try to spend it; I keep it in a leather zip pouch in my car.  If I stop to buy a coffee or water I use it.  Last time I counted I had $12 in there.  I haven't been traveling, which is when I spend it down. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at April 5, 2019 6:30 AM MDT

  • 12 dollars isn’t too much. I guess though you don’t have $1 and $2 coins. We do so it adds up quicker.

  • We have five in circulation right now.  Silver Eagle  dollars are still minted and are the big ones.  You pretty much only get them if you ask for them at the bank.  Susan B Anthonies.  No longer minted but you still see them.occasionally.  They were mostly gotten as change at post offices and stamp machines

Then there are the Sacagewea Dollars being minted.  They replaced the Susan . The Presidential  Dollar coin which looks like a gold quarter.  Then the newly released  American Innovation dollar coin that replaces the Presidential last year.

Hardly anyone uses any of them. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at April 3, 2019 8:08 PM MDT

  • No we do you just don't see them often. Most people don't even think they are still minted and a lot of people prolly never seen one.

  • We do have two follar bills still.  Just nobody really uses them.  The most likely place you will see them is given as change in some strip clubs.,but I wouldn't know anything about that.

I don't know who said what.  Perhaps someone told you we have dollar coins.  We do.  They have been around for years.  I have seen two of them ever.  So I never think about the dollar coins.
