Yes. They know it's bad form for a candidate's family to take away the limelight (or what is called 'oxygen' these days) from his or her campaign. Billy Carter, for example, was oblivious to this protocol, and it almost cost Jimmy his first election. (Bill Clinton is almost as clueless with respect to Hillary's campaign...or so it would seem.)
