A Hot Cake in England means it something very desirable and items that sell out the moment they are released.... In your case,it's something like a steaming hot Cow Pat ..:)
There is nothing more delicious than a cake straight out of the oven that your mums made..... as kids were use to Que in line to get the one that our mum cooked..
I see this only as the Student becoming the Teacher... Hehe.....
