For those who belong to multiple internet social sites why can't you be satisfied belonging to one and stay faithful only to it?

Do you flit around from mate to mate because one doesn't "complete" you? If it's the RIGHT ONE what doesn't it satisfy? I don't get it.

Because I have different friends on different sites.

Who am I to tell a person if they want to be friends with me they must belong to "site such-and-such"?   I've tried to stay "faithful" to one site.  But when the trolls and perverts take over, I have to move on.  I do not have to put up with offensive or perverted people!!  However, I am a faithful friend.  As long as my friend(s) remains on that site I will still stay a member.  However, if they leave the site or stop being my friend, I delete my account.

Thank you for your reply Shuhak and Happy Thursday. Are the people you meet on different sites different from one another? Does one appeal more to "intellectuals" and another site appeal more to artists and another site appeal more to gardeners or are they all the same? Just wondering. I'm not a joiner. I wouldn't be here if Answerbag hadn't existed and I wouldn't have been there if my son were not a principal and had not invited me to drop by and look around. So wherever lots of people congregate I'm not. Except for here because it is a sentimental thing for me. Some folks here used to be on Answerbag and when that died we came here. People are different and they are same in different ways. And so it goes. This post was edited by RosieG at April 11, 2019 9:51 AM MDT

The people I meet on other sites are very different from each other and come from all walks of life.  Some are witty and outgoing, others are reserved and shy.  Like here, the other sites are people who just want to have a bit of "fun" and talk to others.

I think it may be akin to why we eat different foods... because they have different vitamins and goodness,.. so we eat a variety to ensure we get all we need in terms of nutrients. It may be that we have a variety of different online needs? So, to satisfy them people get what they need from several?

Hi there ADDB. I'm a loner not a joiner. Where there are a zillion people you won't ever find me. I'm here because I used to be on Answerbag because my son was a principal there and invited me to drop by. I did and I never left. Answerbag left us for while and some of the folks were friends there so it's been since February 2005 we known one another. But seeking out new? I guess it's not for me. I'm here for as long as I have time to spare. I do see your point. I expect different kinds of folks are drawn to different sites for different reasons. My needs for social interaction are more than met here. I cannot keep up here let alone elsewhere. I don't always get back to those who respond because I just ask way too many questions. So if I were to spread out to different sites I'd be sitting on this chair 24/7 never having time for anything else. Thank you for your reply sweetie and Happy Thursday! :) ((hugs))
