I just went out in the backyard and the scent or ORANGE BLOSSOM permeated the air. So lovely it almost knocked my socks off except I'm not wearing socks.

    Scent is very powerful.

That is why we sell aromatherapy in my Spa as an added enhancement to encourage different effects.  Lavender is soothing and sleep-inducing, peppermint is bracing and good for headaches and orange is very bracing and refreshingly clean smelling.

We have jasmine trees by us and orange trees and they are very powerful in their scent.  When I am hit with those smells, I feel transported. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at April 13, 2019 3:30 AM MDT

Me too Sharon! Our Trash, Green Waste and Recycling barrels are in our back yard near the wall where the overhand of the orange tree cascades down. So whenever I go out to put something in a barrel the scent is awesome! There are a zillion blossoms now. We got dozens of oranges last year. They are usually ready sometime in December. We watch the blossom turn onto teeny tiny buds and then watch the buds grow larger and larger. It's great to just go out in the backyard and pick them. Same thing with our lemon tree though the fragrance of lemon blossoms is not nearly as perfumy. Thank you for your reply! :)

I'd love to have oranges fresh from the tree. Here in the UK the best we can offer is apples. We used to have an apple tree in our garden and the neighbours loved it and were always welcome to pick their share.

Do oranges not grow well there m'dear? We love apples too. I guess we just love fruit and veggies. Things that grow in one's garden. We have a friend with a very large yard and his goal is to grow 70% of what they eat. He has been working on it for years. He has fruit trees galore and grows a zillion different kinds of veggies. They are Vegetarians. Last time I asked he  said he was at about 60%. Our dream would be to go into our garden and pick the veggies I'd use to fix dinner. Maybe that's everyone's dream? Well not the folks that don't enjoy cooking! Thank you for your reply! :)
