In terms of the potential for loss of human rights and liberty, from which of America's three predominant political views (e.g., liberal, conservative or libertarian) do you have the least to fear?
Uh, you do realize that corporatism is a form of socialism, right? You do realize that corporations have absolutely nothing to do with capitalism, right? You do realize that many (I'd say around 40 percent) of libertarians view corporations/corporatism as a CORRUPTION of the free market, right?
I'm Libertarian and as far as human rights and liberty go I fear libertarian far less for reasons that should be obvious :P
I suppose that would depend greatly on which flavor of libertarianism (of which voluntaryism is one) we're talking about.
One of the main tiffs I took with mainstream libertarians recently was the whole "abortion and gay marriage are a states rights issue," argument. I used to agree with that as a new liberatarian. Not so much as a voluntaryist. My whole position on states rights has changed over time. Not enough so that I wouldn't vote for a libertarian, just one of the differences I've found between myself and some. Does that make sense?
I've noticed that, too. Most of those "libertarians" seem to really just be disgruntled conservatives and Republicans that are trying to distance themselves from the base they once identified with. I have not seen a great deal of truly libertarian concepts among their espoused beliefs. JMHO
That is true.
Why? Don't you want to adult?
Yes, but I don't think libertarians view "states' rights" in the same way as, say, liberals (or white separatists/supremacists). For them, the term merely refers to a concept which is already extant in the Constitution in re: the tenth amendment.
What manifesto?
